Ellipse2-A: Miniature AHRS

Ellipse2-A is a small-sized high performance Attitude and Heading Reference System (AHRS). It provides Roll, Pitch, Heading, and Heave data.

This light-weight sensor (45 grams) includes a MEMS-based Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) integrating three gyroscopes, three magnetometers, and three accelerometers. Running an extended Kalman filter (EKF), the Ellipse-A provides accurate orientation data in both static and dynamic conditions.

Highly Rugged to Vibrations and Magnetic Disturbances

• Vibrations: Internal FIR filters coupled with Coning & Sculling integrals to provide efficient vibration rejection.
• Calibration: Intensively tested and calibrated from -40 to 85°C for consistent data in all conditions (the Calibration Report is shipped with the sensor).
• Iron Disturbances: Ellipse sensors are highly rugged to magnetic disturbances. To go even further, a magnetic calibration tool is embedded in the inertial sensor. It allows quick in-field soft and hard magnetic disturbances compensation.
